DAY 1 We arrive in Cologne and stay for three nights.

DAY 2 Cologne (included) There’s a choice of markets to explore. Start at the cathedral, where brightly-decorated booths await, then onto the old market in front of the town hall. The new market square and the aptly-named Rudolfplatz are appealing, and you may also like to dine in style in one of the many restaurants, sampling the local Kölsch beer. B

DAY 3 Rhine and Moselle Valleys (included) A full-day to the picturesque Rhine and Moselle Valleys, with an optional Rhine cruise and Moselle winetasting. There’s a late-afternoon visit to Koblenz, with time to visit the Christmas market. B

DAY 4 We journey to Calais then return home. B
